Illustration project: Development

In this project I had to design a variety of illustrations in the style of a wellknown illustrator. I used the influence of Ron Borreson. He designs illustrations of animals, monsters, humans and a mixture of all three. For my design, I used my imagination and chose to design a dragon wearing a hat and monacle. Many techniques were used while designing this. For example, I used concrete texture to create the scales on the dragon and reduced the opacity and many layers and blending options were used to create the dark and light tones.

Illustration project: Development

The purpose of this was to design an animated illustration in the style of 'Thies Schwarz'. His work involves animated images using effective tones and shadows. As you can see here, I have aimed to achieve the same effect. I have added a shadow which runs across the side of his body.

Virtual School logo project: Final design

This is from a live project to design a logo for the Local Education Authority. The 'Virtual School' is for children in care, of all ages, who attend various schools and colleges in the borough. The logo had to appeal to the children and all professionals involved in their different capacities. It was important to create a feeling of 'partnership', 'communication' and 'co-operation'. The circles represent heads of people and the wavy lines represent their arms around one another.

Cupcake logo project: Final design

A live project to design a logo for a 'start-up' company making cupcakes. Our client wanted something decorartive using only pink or black or a mixture of both for colour. I thought it would be a great idea to use script text to represent cake decoration.  I also added simplified stripes to the cake case simply to attract attention.
